1968 Datsun 2000 Sports 2 litre engine

The 2000 sports Datsun is the last of the Fairlady series being superseded by the iconic 240Z in 1970. As the last of the series Datsun decided to produce an engine that would blow away other sports cars of the day. A special 2 litre overhead camshaft engine known as a “U” series engine, with an output of 150 horsepower was built by Datsun. With its light weight , the marque was capable of 130 MPH,  much faster than its smaller engined predecessors that were easily beaten by marques such as the MGB. With its 2 dual throated Solex Carburettors it is a pleasure to drive .
